Steal Fish Eggs Fish Index

Your tank is a roster. Here is how to read it while the official bestiary is still filling in.

Fish Index Hub

This hub is the roster side of Steal Fish Eggs: the fish you hatch, keep, and sometimes lose to other players. It is not a copied Steal a Fish price sheet. Kaiju Outbreak Official has not posted a complete public bestiary, so we document how to read a fish and the few examples that official art already committed to. Named rows get added when they are confirmed in-game, not when a lookalike title uses the same meme animal.

Child pages: best fish for keep-or-sell, steal from players for the PvP side of the roster.

What a fish is

A fish is a hatched egg that sits in your tank and prints money. The official description is blunt: steal fish eggs, hatch rare fish, earn money, then steal fish from other players. Income is the only ranking that matters. Looks are a mutation or a size, not a strategy. See how to hatch for timers and fish tier list for S–C roles.

Confirmed examples

Jellyfish Egg — promo still shows a nest under a pink jellyfish boss with a world tag JELLYFISHEGG $89,121Sp/s. That is an income callout on the egg, which means you can scout value before pickup if the tag is visible. It is also a warning: other players can read the same tag.

Rainbow shark — split art shows a rainbow scaled egg on a 5s clock revealing a rainbow shark at 0.01%. Treat that as a mutation advertisement. If you hatch it, it is a keeper until something out-earns it. If you do not, you are not unlucky in a broken way; you hit 99.99%.

Shark boss versus shark pet — the chasing shark in the reef still is a guardian, not automatically a tank pet. Do not assume every boss model is also a hatch. Wait for the egg tag.

How to log a new fish yourself

When you hatch something this wiki does not name yet:

  1. Write the name as shown on the card.
  2. Write income per second.
  3. Note size and mutation if the card shows them.
  4. Note which water you stole from (near, mid, far, or the 13 September biome).
  5. Compare to your worst slot. If it wins, it stays.

That log is more useful than a fake 80-row table. We will fold confirmed names into this hub over time.

Roster rules

  • Six-player servers mean your best fish is also the best loot on the shard. How to protect your base is part of roster management.
  • Speed buys access to better eggs. A full tank of near-water commons cannot pay for Dark Matter. How to get Speed is the other half of the index.
  • Codes do not fill the index. Codes are empty as of this writing.

After more fish arrive

The September 13 update adds more fish and a new biome. Expect new names, new tags, maybe new mutations. Come back here the same evening. Until then, the index is a method: steal, hatch, compare, replace. Getting Started teaches the method in a first hour. Best fish tells you which roles to keep when the tank is full.

If you opened this hub looking for a tradable pet list: Steal Fish Eggs is an income tycoon, not a trading plaza. There is no official trade window in the storefront text. Value is $/s in your tank, not a rap.
