Steal Fish Eggs How to Get Swim Speed
Pool ticks plus Trails are the whole Speed stack — here is the order that actually outruns bosses.
Swim Speed is the progression stat in Steal Fish Eggs. It decides which nests you can reach and whether a jellyfish or shark eats the run. There is no land treadmill. Kaiju Outbreak Official’s description tells you to upgrade your endless pool and base and train on the endless pool to gain swim Speed. Sportskeeda’s trail guide adds that the training pool sits outside your tank and can be upgraded, and that Trails apply a permanent speed multiplier on top.
Those two systems stack. Players who only buy Trails stall. Players who only AFK the pool stall later, when 1.0x is not enough to leave the safe zone with a heavy egg.
The endless pool
Find the pool just outside your tank in the safe zone. Swim. That is the training action. Upgrades make each lap worth more. Put early cash here and into Grey Trail, not into a cosmetic flex.
Practical rules:
- Train while a long hatch ticks. You can be in the pool while an egg grows; do not stand still in the tank staring at the timer (see how to hatch).
- Do not AFK in the pool if your fish are exposed. Six-player servers steal. Pair pool sessions with how to protect your base.
- After each pool upgrade, test a nest you previously failed. If you still drop, you need a Trail, not another minute of hopium.
Full upgrade thinking lives on Speed training. This page is the why; that page is the spend order next to Trails.
Trails are multipliers, not skins
There are seven Trails in the Trail Shop:
| Trail | Rarity | Speed | Cash | Robux |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grey | Basic | 1.5x | $1,000 | — |
| Blue | Rare | 2x | $10,000 | — |
| Purple | Epic | 3x | $80,000 | 49 |
| Gold | Legendary | 4x | $1.75 million | 99 |
| Red | Mythic | 5x | $50 million | 179 |
| Dark Matter | Abyssal | 6x | $5 billion | 319 |
| Universal | Astral | 8x | $1.5 trillion | 449 |
Buy Grey on the first $1,000. Blue when nearby nests are trivial. Purple is the first “I am leaving sight of spawn” Trail. Gold is the first Trail whose cash price hurts; Robux is optional, never required. Red and above are late-game. The trails tier list ranks them for progression versus flex.
A multiplier on a weak pool is still a multiplier. A max pool with no Trail loses to a mid pool plus Purple on a chase. Stack both.
What Speed is for
Speed is not a leaderboard trophy. It is how you:
- Reach nests farther from the safe zone (biomes).
- Outrun bosses after pickup (how to steal eggs).
- Leave a raid with someone else’s fish (steal from players).
- Survive the new biome arriving 13 September 2026.
If a nest looks free but every attempt ends in a drop, you do not have a “route problem.” You have a Speed problem.
Robux versus cash
Purple through Universal can be bought with Robux. That skips the cash grind; it does not skip pool training. A 4x Gold Trail on an unupgraded pool still feels slow in a long chase. Spend Robux only if you already like the game and you understand you are buying time, not a win button. This wiki will not tell you to swipe for Dark Matter.
After the September 13 patch
Writers covering the game noted that “new features” might include a rebirth-style system. That is unconfirmed. If a rebirth lands, Speed strategy may reset or multiply. Until the September 13 update notes are in, keep stacking pool plus Trails. Do not sit on $50 million “waiting for rebirth” unless the patch notes tell you to.
Starter Speed plan
- Pool laps until Grey is affordable.
- Grey Trail (1.5x).
- Nearby steals, hatch, replace weak fish (fish index).
- Pool upgrades until Blue ($10,000) is a short farm.
- Blue Trail, then slightly farther nests.
- Purple when you are dying on the same mid-distance boss.
That plan is the whole early game. Getting Started wraps it in a timed first hour. Come back here whenever a new nest starts winning the chase.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Steal Fish Eggs questions.
How do you get Speed in Steal Fish Eggs?
Train in the endless pool outside your tank and equip Trails from the shop. The two stack. There is no land treadmill.
Which Trail should I buy first?
Grey Trail for $1,000 (1.5x). Then Blue at $10,000. See the trails tier list.
Does Robux skip training?
Robux can skip a Trail’s cash price. You still need pool upgrades or chases stay long.
Why am I still slower than the jellyfish?
That nest is a Speed gate. Upgrade the pool, equip a higher Trail, and retry. Aborting is cheaper than repeating a drop.
